High Ground NOLA

High Density on the High Ground Competition

Honorable Mention
Boehm Architecture,  Competition Entry Organizer, Designer, Renderings and Presentation

Led the team to create a context sensitive and typologically innovative approach to increasing density in the less flood-prone areas in New Orleans. The design makes use of a hybrid of the Spanish Colonial courtyard house typical to the French Quarter. The type is modified and stacked to create four levels of two story apartments surrounded by an update on the filigree ornamented balconies also typical to the area. Ground level business incubator space is covered with a levee height public area connecting residents to the experience of the Mississippi river.
